Aftermath Engine

Record your session. Prep the next one in minutes.

Aftermath Engine analyzes your tabletop RPG sessions and delivers a structured GM brief before your next game. NPCs shift. Factions move. Nothing gets forgotten.

Tabletop is a human craft. The bookkeeping around it isn't. Aftermath Engine puts AI where the busywork lives, not where your craft does.

Built by a working GM who runs campaigns weekly. Read the breakdown of a real session.

The Problem Every GM Knows

You sit down to run a session and you can barely remember what happened last time. Which NPCs did the players antagonize? What promises did they make? Which factions are moving against them while they sleep?

You spend an hour reconstructing campaign state from notes, recordings, and memory. Or you wing it and hope the world still feels alive.

Upload your session recording. Get back a brief that tells you exactly what changed, who shifted, and what the world did while the players weren't watching.

How It Works

01

Record Your Session

Use Zoom, Riverside, or any recording tool. Upload the VTT transcript, audio file, or MP4 directly to Aftermath Engine.

02

Aftermath Analyzes

The engine reads your session, extracts consequences, tracks NPC shifts, and updates faction states. Works with any system. VTT files process in under a minute.

03

Walk In Prepared

Read your GM brief before you sit down. Review and approve proposed NPC and faction updates. Walk into your next session knowing exactly what changed.

What the Brief Looks Like

Session Snapshot

The party infiltrated the merchant guild's warehouse, recovered the stolen ledger, and struck an uneasy deal with the city's thieves guild to get it out of town. The session ended with the city watch closing in and a rival crew blocking the southern gate.

Consequence Register

  • The thieves guild expects repayment within the week. Failure to deliver will close every back-channel route out of the city.
  • The merchant guild knows someone hit their warehouse. They don't know who yet, but they're asking questions.
  • The rival crew is camped at the southern gate. The party cannot leave the city without going through them or finding another way.

Pressure Points

  • Mara Voss helped them once. She won't do it again without collateral. What are they willing to give?
  • Lord Aldric has informants everywhere. Every day in the city is another chance to be recognized.
  • Dex knows what the ledger is worth. He might be willing to talk before he's willing to fight.

Works With Any System

Aftermath Engine operates at the narrative layer, not the rules layer. It doesn't care about hit points, spell slots, or action economy. It tracks consequences, relationships, and world state.

Old-School Essentials • Electric Bastionland • Call of Cthulhu • AD&D • D&D Rules Cyclopedia • Pathfinder • Mothership • Ironsworn • Any system you love.

Built by a GM, for GMs

I run Old-School Essentials, Electric Bastionland, AD&D, and Call of Cthulhu. We play every week. After a few years of staring at blank notes on Sunday mornings trying to remember what happened last session, I built Aftermath Engine to do that work for me. The goal was simple: less time reconstructing the past, more time preparing what comes next.
